User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071025 Firefox/2.0.0.9 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071025 Firefox/2.0.0.9 In my daily work flow I need to have multiple tabs open all day long. Many of these tabs have sites with many form fields on the pages. After a varied amount of time on each occurrence, the enter and tab keys cease to be captured by the forms I am using. I often use tab to skip between form fields as well as enter to submit forms or to create line breaks in "text area" fields. The only way I have been able to fix this problem each time is to quit Firefox and restart it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have multiple tabs open. 2. Have multiple forms pages within the tabs. 3. Use the enter key and tab key often while interacting with these fields and switching between tabs. Actual Results: Tab and enter keys ceased to function in the forms. Expected Results: Tab and enter keys should continue to perform their normal functions, i.e., tabbing between form fields, creating line breaks in text areas and also submitting forms.
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080201 Firefox/2.0.0.12 Reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: I can reproduce this, using Mr. Bowles' steps. My last experience of this, today, was this sequence: 1. About 6 browser tabs and one window were open. 2. Multiple forms in use. 3. Typed Apple-T to open a new browser tab. 4. Hit tab key, intending to go from address bar to search box to GoogleBar. Actual Results: No change in focus. The cursor did not blink in any of those fields. Back in Web forms, I confirmed that the tab key was not advancing the cursor. Expected Results: Tab key should advance the cursor focus from Address bar through plug-in bars, and through Web forms. Enter key should create line breaks and submit forms. Notes: My current job involves Web form design, construction, and testing. I have a new 17" MacBook Pro, with Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.2). All of my coworkers have the exact same machine, and do similar work, but with the prior OS. None of them have the problem. None of my 5 prior machines exhibited Firefox tab key problems. Most of them were Windows XP, one OS X Panther. No other application on my current Mac has the problem, even when Firefox has it.
I have been encountering this bug multiple times everyday for the past 2 or so months. The bug can be reproduced as described above. I am running Firefox 2.0.0.13 on Mac OS X 10.5.2.
I have encountered the exact same problem on my MacBook running OS X 10.5.2.
The OS X widget code was completely rewritten for Firefox 3, and should have fixed a pile of bugs like these. I've not seen this in FF3, nor have I heard recent reports of such (many Mozilla developers use OS X, and we're obviously heavy users of tabs + bugzilla).

I have been using OS X 10.5.5 and firefox 3.0.3 for some time with no problem. A few days ago I started seeing the symptoms described here.
Mea culpa. The problem was the result of 2 extensions that I have installed. Apparently 1Password 2.9.3 conflicts with ImageZoom 0.3.1. The folks at Agile are working on the problem http://support.agilewebsolutions.com/showthread.php?p=70926.
