User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b2pre) Gecko/2007111104 Minefield/3.0b2pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b2pre) Gecko/2007111104 Minefield/3.0b2pre Whatever secure site I go to (VeriSign linked because I *know* they should validate) 'Larry' always says "Information identifying the owner of this web site may not have been validated" Looking at the actual certificate, it definitely says "extended validation". So this is a problem with larry. He should be telling me it has been validated, no 'might not' weasel words. Also, a visual cue for EV (or any other advanced security tech) would be nice. Like a green location bar. PS Where did the padlock go? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Goto linked site 2. Click favicon 3. Read text Actual Results: Larry weasels out of telling me weather or not the owner has been validated. Expected Results: Larry confirms the validation.
No weasel, we just haven't installed the EV root certs yet. Duping to the Verisign bug since you call them out specifically, but there are ones for the other CA's too. The padlock is gone, see (and participate in if you want) the UI design newsgroups
