One of the tabs in my multitab homepage points to http://addonsmirror.net/ . Starting today, at SeaMonkey startup I got a popup, requesting a username and password for access to "Secured Area" at addonsmirror.net. After entering the correct username and password (and leaving the Password Manager checkbox unchecked), the same popup came up again. This time I clicked Cancel, leading to a 401 (Unauthorized) error page. After startup, just clicking the Go button on that tab opened the page with no error.
The correct username and password are memorized (from a previous session) by the Password Manager, as can be seen in "Edit -> (Legacy Prefwindow...) -> (Migrated: Privacy & Security) -> Passwords -> Manage Stored Passwords -> Show Passwords -> Yes".
Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1. See above.
Actual Results:
See above.
Expected Results:
See above.

P.S. Before clicking "Go" on that tab, I went to the next tab, pointing to http://forum.addonsmirror.net/ , and logged in using the username and password supplied by the Password Manager.

I'm not sure what your expected results are supposed to be... no password prompt? or a password prompt and loading the page.

Sorry. Until yesterday, the page loaded OK with no password prompt, so that's my "expected result".
Thinking back on it, I'm not sure whether this is a SeaMonkey error or an addonsmirror error (in which case I suppose it should be resolved INVALID) and I don't know how to investigate the case.

Do you have a bug number? Bug 338549 is for mailnews, this one is for the browser at startup. In fact I don't use SeaMonkey Mail/News.

This bug hasn't yet reoccurred here, and yet I close SeaMonkey approx. every 24 hours (usually around 13:00 UTC) to install the next nightly. Unless someone (including me) gets bit again, I suppose the bug can be closed, either WORKSFORME after waiting a "reasonable" time, or INVALID if it is found that "it is not a Mozilla bug".
