User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071204 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.11 Build Identifier: 20071022 I use Thunderbird in 2 computers with a horizontal resolution of 1280*1024 and 1280*800. The problem I have is with the Vertical View in Layout. It is impossible to view the subject, sender and date properly. You have to either squeeze the List pane or the Preview Pane. You have to try if for yourself and see how inconvenient it is. My theory is that the developers have nice monitors with at least 1600*1200 and do not see this from the same point of view. If I had that type of resolution I would be perfectly happy with the single row display but for most people the single row might be an issue. The percentage of people with monitors up to the 1280*1024 range is more than 90%. The alternative, using the Horizontal View means more vertical strolling. I love Thunderbird and I suggest that to almost everybody (tech support job). The only thing I miss about Outlook or Evolution is the 2 row email list. Please consider it as an option in Thunderbird 3 or maybe an add-on. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Thunderbird 2.Select Vertial View in View > Layout 3. Actual Results: You have to squeeze either the email list or the preview pane. Expected Results: Have a 2 row email list where the subject has the first line and sender, date and details (attachments, flags and so on) are in the second row.
