Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b3pre) Gecko/2008012904 Minefield/3.0b3pre ID:2008012904 At the top of the Add-ons manager are four icons: Get Add-ons, Extensions, Themes, and Plugins, and these are all grouped together. I think it would be worth somehow separating the Get Add-ons from the other three a little. The Extensions, Themes, and Plugins icons are your Add-ons. And the "Get Add-ons" button is special, and related to all three (or at least two of these things, not sure if you'll ever be able to get plugins from this UI). So I think the Get Add-ons icon should be shown to be different somehow. I'm not exactly sure how tho; I knocked an example of separating the Get Add-ons icon with a line, and then some space, and then a line in some space, and it all looks a bit rubbish. So I'm out of ideas :>
I would like to nominate that the Get Addons be moved to the right-most tab area, leaving the User tabs in priority order: Extensions Themes Plug-ins Get Addons Default tab on open of the Add-ons Manager should be Extensions.
The order should the order of use I think. When you first get Firefox, the only thing that is really useful in the addons manager is the get add-ons pane.

This has potential, but I'd like get a better sense of how much of a problem there really is before we start changing things. Beta 3 should help give us a sense of whether people actually find the current arrangement confusing.

Not going to happen for Firefox 3
I was thinking for the right side too, but as comment 6 says it wont happen for firefox 3 and usually small things like these are ignored. If the get addons icon is on the right separated from others it will be more visible. The most used icon is extensions, most of the times the addons manager is used for managing the extensions. Searching for addons is not every day.

I think we're happy with the way the new UI looks.
