If a page is throwing JavaScript alerts in a tight loop (so as soon as you click "OK" on the alert, it throws up another one) then it's very difficult to get away from that page without killing Firefox. It would be enormously handy if the close icon on the tab causing the problem still worked, and could close the tab, even if there was a JavaScript alert dialog showing. This is probably only useful to web developers who get something wrong while they're developing a page, but it would be extremely useful to those web developers, and it won't affect usability for ordinary users (and might occasionally be useful to them too).
