If you clear the text within the location bar under OS X the background turns white except the left part near the favicon. If we are on a HTTPS site the whole location bar should stay with yellow background.

I think it's fine for it to change to white. The rounded bit on the left just needs to change too.

As I see now while testing with Firefox 2 these is a regression. The location bar should stay yellow after removing its content. Further it should indicate that we are still on a secure website.

The location bar no longer indicates where you are once you start editing it, so it makes sense for it to be white instead of yellow.
