Today I have been moving many mails from an INAP server to local folders. I have lost several hundred mails in the process. What happend is as follows: - I had a folder containing about 800 mails on the IMAP server. - I selected them all and moved them to a subfolder of "Local Folders" - Process seemed to complete normally (counting in status bar reached maximum number of mails) - Seamonkey hang when trying to access theLocal folder - after several minutes, I ended the program (using the normal "Quit", no kill command) - after restarting, the IMAP folder was nearly empty (a couple of mails remained), the Local Folder contained hundreds of fake mails (no subject, no sender, no date, just the time of day of around the move operation) - original mails seem to be gone completely. To be this is a severe bug, since it causes dataloss. Reproducing is probably hard, but I hope someone looks into this, as dataloss bugs should be avoided. Reproducible: Didn't try
