User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; it; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080129 Iceweasel/2.0.0.12 (Debian-2.0.0.12-0etch1) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it; rv:1.9b3) Gecko/2008020513 Firefox/3.0b3 hi I use Debian 4.0 , for AMD64 CPU. I downloaded Firefox 3.0b3 and wanted to give it a try, but it does not work, it is not able to resolve addresses (as if I hadnt any access to a DNS ) To start it, I use $ linux32 ./firefox -safe-mode I must say that I have installed some libraries from Debian/unstable to have good 32bit emulation (so I can run Acrobat Reader and Skype fine) BTW: is there somewhere a binary of 3.0b3 for AMD64 Linux ? a. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start firefox using $ linux32 ./firefox -safe-mode 2. type a page in the URL, press enter 3. profit! :-)
Did you try to se network.dns.disableIPv6 to yes in about:config ?
bingo, That solves the problem.
