Just to clarify, by "base background color", you mean the dialog background color, like the background color used in options dialogs, right? The reason I'm asking for this clarification is that in your screenshot, you are pointing to the toolbar, and the toolbar background color isn't necessarily always the same as the dialog background color (although it happens to be so for classic). If that's what you want, then that ought to be a fairly simple... #placesView #infoPane { background-color: -moz-dialog; }

I meant the dialog background color.

This was fixed with bug 428031, sorry about duping to a newer bug, just catching up on the list Andrés sent me now.
