User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:2.0a1pre) Gecko/2008030702 Minefield/4.0a1pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:2.0a1pre) Gecko/2008030702 Minefield/4.0a1pre usually after start user see his home page with some info (iGoogle for example), but usually it not main purpose why he open FF - mostly he need some other info (probably from bookmarks) and instead of pressing Ctr-T (who know how many users use it?) user can use double click on free space of tab area (possibly not clear too) - just check what his need and after that return to exploring his homepage, also i guess that probably we should introduce permanent button "new tab" (like IE7(8)) since after opening many tabs here no free space for new tab click - Jef Raskin call it "mode" - so user should (must?) track in which of three mode he stand ("single tab mode" for use Ctrl-T, "free space mode" for double click, or Ctrl-T again if here already no free space) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: just start FF with default settings by shortcut (for example you set as home page iGoogle, but for now you need some info from your bookmarks and you want open this bookmark in new tab, your mouse in your right hand (you just two seconds ago used your mouse to start FF) but your left hand busy (you hold cap of tea or pie of pizza or something else) Actual Results: you need take off right hand from mouse to press Ctrl-T (not so easy for right hand) or put something from left hand to table (is it clean?) and press Ctrl-T (hey! who stole my pizza?) Expected Results: you just use mouse to click FF shortcut, then double click free space at tab bar for opening new tab and click desired bookmark (after exploring this bookmark you can switch to your home page exploring) using "right mouse button" for opening new tab from bookmarks may not work for Mac, hard to use in notebooks and still not clear to users with >2 button mouse (because introduce new mode for him - "right mouse button mode"), also some bookmarks at bookmarks tab presented as buttons and some other as menus ("Getting started" and "Latest headlines" for example) but visually not differ from each other - so user should decide (recall from memory on which link at which level he should use right or left mouse-click)
