Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008032619 Firefox/3.0b5
When FF starts up in 'show my tabs from last time' mode, the history is not
updated with the loading as a new 'visit'.
This makes it painful to recover lost open tabs when more than one FF window is
opened and the window with all the tabs gets closed, losing all record of what
tabs were opened in the window.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start FF session with window 'one' with one or more already open tabs.
2. Open another FF window 'two'.
3. Window 'one' is closed on accident or on purpose. Usually happens because window 'two' is small, iconified, or buried under other windows.
4. Have now lost all references to tabs in window 'one'.
5. History does not show tabs opened in startup from last FF session, even though these tabs have been opened in FF for at least the last two weeks.
I really like the 'restore previous session' feature.
I am open to any solution which allows recovery of or retention of tabs lost
when window is accidentally or purposely closed.

Not updating history makes sense to me, as you don't really visit those pages anew, but rather just stay on them in the same session (which is continued thanks to our Session Restore feature). So this bug is most probably INVALID.
What would fix your use case would be e.g. bug 394759 or, for the time being, the Session Manager extension from <https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2324>.

I'll try the plugin while waiting for bug 394759.
Also, I'll change my workflow to do control-Q instead of closing the window
from X.
Thanks.
