Since I often have files with similar names in the folder I commonly use when sending attachments, it would be nice to see some metadata for the attached file. For my purposes, the modify date would be most useful to see, though filesize would be helpful as well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch the message compose window. 2. Attach a file. 3. Mouseover the filename in the attachment window and view the tooltip (or whatever it's called). Actual Results: I saw the attachment path, but not the modify timestamp. Expected Results: I would like to be able to see the modify timestamp of the attached file, and perhaps the filesize. NA

This looks like a valid and quite simple request for enhancement, and there are other bugs with similar and much more complex requests for showing details of (received) attachments, e.g. - Bug 384331 - New Feature: Add "folders with all attachments (by type/date/size/from:)" to folder pane views - Bug 360647 - implement alternative view for attachment details - Bug 404186 - Preview of attachment filename and size It makes a lot of sense to see the modification date (or date of adding) and the size of attachments at compose time, so as to check if the right files have been attached. -> NEW Ulysse, please remove wontfix nomination.

Updating summary, since the composer shows the file size now, so there's no point in it being part of a tooltip. Note that this is basically impossible for attachments that come from other messages, unless you just decide to use the date of the message as the date of the file, which is technically inaccurate and may be confusing.
