When importing bookmarks from html file, or moving / deleting a folder which contains a lot of bookmarks, FF3 is accessing a lot the hard drive and it takes about 1 minute to complete the operation.
In comparison FF2 performed the same operation in about 5 seconds, with only a few hard drive access.
Issue was reported in bug 434917 but not in a very constructive way, that why I open a new bug.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Import html bookmark file, or move / delete a folder with many bookmarks inside
2.
3.
Actual Results:
operation ends after about 1 minute instead of few seconds in FF2
Expected Results:
operation ends in few seconds with limited hard drive accesses

How large are these files? How many bookmarks are you talking about? Would you be willing to post your palces.sqlite file for inspection by a developer?
