The printing preview is OK, but when I press the print button the output is completely incorrect "reversed" and is not readable and badly formatted.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Summary: Incorrect Arabic text priting → Incorrect Arabic text printing
Version: unspecified → 3.0 Branch
I tested this on another computer, (with a different printer) It seems to have the same problem...
i have the same problem
I haven't been able to reproduce this, but it may be the same issue as bug 435856. Can you provide a sample URL where this occurs, and precise steps to reproduce?
Flags: blocking1.9.0.1?

Need this to be confirmed before we can mark it WANTED. Anyone else experiencing this?
Flags: blocking1.9.0.1? → blocking1.9.0.1-
Confirmed on FF 3 and also latest trunk: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 ID:2008062606.

To reproduce,

1) Go to http://catch22.net/tuts/editor12.asp
2) Print the page

The Arabic text between "Hello" and "World" gets messed up in the print version.

The other bug that Simon mentioned (435856) might well be related, as I have also noticed corruption with the displayed text in FF. For example, the text that gets messed up in the print version will be displayed incorrectly on the screen version. Also, the left box of the two lower boxes will often revert to showing the text in un-joined form (ie. same as the right-hand box). However, these display problems seem intermittent, with no discernable pattern, while the print problem is reproducible every time for me.
The version of FF 3 that also exhibits the problem (I haven't gone back any further) was Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008060912 Minefield/3.0pre ID:2008060912
Sorry for multiple posts. I forgot to mention that print preview does not exhibit the problem.
I reproduced this at http://catch22.net/tuts/editor12.asp with FF3, but not with a trunk (3.1.a1pre) build, so I think it is indeed the same as bug 435856. Can you try with a mozilla-central nightly?
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Depends on: 435856
Ever confirmed: true
The user agent string in my post #5 was incorrect as I had switched it to get another website working. It should've read

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9.1a1pre) Gecko/2008062606 Minefield/3.1a1pre ID:2008062606

That is, I've reproduced this problem on 3.1a1pre (and it occurs every time). To test I'm not actually printing to paper, but am printing to a virtual driver (ie. FinePrint, PDF-XChange, priPrinter) and they all have the corrupted Arabic text between "Hello" and "World". I will try printing to my actual printer when a long print job I'm running finishes.

Im unable to replicate this on windows 10 64bit using firefox release 93.
after print preview it printed correctly.
