When trying to store new bookmark with "Bookmark"->"Bookmark this page" dialog window it is too small (small window and less lines) and is not expendable.

This is critical issue from point of view the Firefox usability.

"Add bookmark" is very frequent action for most of users and lots of them feel discomfort when storing new bookmarks. The Firefox usability is lower :  (

Expected: Expendable "Page bookmarked" which size cab be stored and restored on the next Firefox start


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. "Bookmark"->"Bookmark this page"
2.  Look at the tiny and narrow window
3.  Feel discomfort : )
Actual Results:

There are similar bugs filed earlier against earlier Firefox releases:
287708:Rewrite "Add bookmark" dialog to have small and expanded mode (like Open/Save dialogs) 
228586:Tree View in "Add Bookmark" dialog is too small

That is Bug 287708, and Bug 228586.
These are actually Camino and Firebird and are very old. They are not really related to this. Can you give more information on how this could be fixed? I agree that making the window resizeable, but read Bug 445279 to see what the Bookmark window is for. I do not think the window needs to be made bigger. It would get in the way of other actions in the browser. I am using 1280X1024 px screen, what is yours? Just curious.
Also, how can you support your statement, "lots of them feel
discomfort when storing new bookmarks"?

The bug numbers are not closely related to the problem.

Fix for this problem is rather simple (from user's point of view). When storing a bookmark the "Page bookmarked" window should be extendable/re-sizable/...  and when changed the window size should be restired on new opening of this window.

Screen resolution has no influence on the problem, but anyway, I use several computers with the following resolutions: 1280x1024, 1280x800, 1680x1050

As about my statement support:
My family members agreed this problem that it was inconvenient.
I have big experience working with different software products and I am sure this problem is not some good for Firefox 3 competitiveness.

As about my statement support I can say that at least my wife and me

I made some corrections of Summary.

To be presice I mean the following windows:

Menu Bookmarks -> Bookmark This Page -> On the "Folder" line press right-side combobox -> appeared Window to select or create new folder and store the bookmark pressing "Done" button.

"Not resizable" is bug 418864.  I don't know if there's already a bug report on "too small by default".

I would like to see this improvement made too. I do hope someone has the time to put into the bookmark window. I've voted for bug 418864.

Since this seems to have changed to more of a resizing issue, dupe of bug 418864.
