Using july 14 commercial build
When you filter to another (IMAP) acct which is unauthenticated and cancel the
loging, the message is not left in the originating inbox and it doesn't appear
in the destination inbox/folder upon next login.
David B. mentioned this was a 4.x problem with moving messages, but that was
ultimately fixed in 4.x. I did not see a problem in 6.0 with non-filter oriented
move messages, but will verify with and without filtering when a fix for this is
applied .
Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch account having two IMAP accounts, neither of the accounts' password
is remembered. Login to the first account. Do not login to the second account.
2. Edit|Message Filters. Select the first IMAP acount in the filter ui dropdown
and set up a simple message filter which will use the action of MoveToFolder and
select a folder on the second IMAP account as the destination of the move.
Confirm OK out of filters ui.
3. Send a message to the first account which will meet the filter criteria.
4. Filter fires and causes a login prompt for the second account. Cancel the
login password dialog.
5. Check the first account's inbox for the filtered message. It is not there.
6. Select the second account's inbox and login with proper password. Check the
destination folder (if other than INBOX) and notice the filtered message is not
there either.
Result: Message is lost if login to second/filter destination account is
cancelled.
Expected: Message should remain in the first account inbox if it cannot be
successfully moved to the destination account.
Note: When verifying, check move message to unauthenticated account with and
without filtering as well as failed login situations other than Cancel. Also
check POP to IMAP variation.

accepting for now. This is really Jeff's area, and it's pretty hairy code.

this is almost as bad as a crash - data loss. I wonder if we have a keywrod for
that.
