I am using thunderbird 3.0.5pre and finds that this bug still exist. I think the cause of the bug was different implementation was used to extract the subject from the message. Haven't lately seen this (now running 3.1.9, Fedora 14). However I also don't have those old mailinglist-messages at hand anymore to retest directly against them.
