I was filling out a tech support form on PayPal, when I accidentally clicked the "X" to close a tab. The tab closed and all the text I had typed in was lost. When I tried to restore the tab with "Recently Closed Tabs", I was thrown back to the PayPal homepage.
It would be neat if Firefox asked for confirmation before closing a tab where the user has entered a lot of text (> 50 characters?).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load any webpage with a text box
2. Enter some text in the text box
3. Close the tab with the page
Actual Results:
The tab closes, the text you entered is gone forever!
Expected Results:
Firefox asks the user "Are you sure you want to close the tab?"

I think this is a dup of bug 252646. But see bug 252646 comment 19 -- the current browser.sessionstore.privacy_level (bug 424872) default is probably the reason you were thrown back to the PayPal homepage when you tried to undo closing the tab, and that's more likely to be be fixed than bug 252646.
