The password is stored in the password manager. Wenn I start firefox with several tabs rememberd from the last browsing, i must first authenticate the at the proxy server. The user and password is stored in the password manager. Therefor comes a popup for the master password. This popup comes for each new tab. In this case i want only one popup for the master password. This will be a big improvement. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. use a proxy with authentificaton for internet access 2. store the proxy password in the passwordmanager 3. start firefox with several open Tabs rememberd from last browsing Actual Results: master paessword pop up several times for each tab. I have to emphasize how much of a problem this is. Our entire corporation is behind a firewall and we've been encouraged to use master password to stop people easily retrieving browser passwords from our computers. I write this ticket on behalf of 10 of people who are also experiencing this issue. Any time the browser needs to restart (i.e. after installing a plugin) the master password request will come up for every single request that is made. So that is every tab, every plugin that trys to update and every ajax request that is set to load when you open firefox. The worst case was I had to enter the master password 80 times. But regularly it's around 15 times. I also have to authenticate against the proxy for every request as well. If possible it would be really nice to have: 1. One Popup for the master password 2. One password for proxy authentication and then have all the tabs load.

yeah this is a problem for sure. We have bug 339804 tracking this.
