If you rely on your OSX address book, the auto-collection feature confuses the issue.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a card in OSX Address book - mistype the address
2. Send an email to that entry in Shredder
3. Go back and correct card in OSX
4. Type in name of person
Actual Results:
The bad address turns up as well - its been auto-collected into "Personal Addresses"
Expected Results:
The auto-collection I don't believe should collect addresses that are already in the address book.
Note - I've reported the weird behavior of auto-collection in Bug 456167, but Mark Banner doesn't think its a bug, if the current behavior is what its supposed to do then I would suggest the above is a bug with that behavior.

The confusion would have been generated by the fact that we were collecting addresses that existed in other address books. This has now been fixed by bug 58769, though some known case-sensitive issues remain, see the blocking list on that bug for those issues.
