Attached image cross folder search screen shot (deleted) —
thread message order not strictly by date in cross folder search, partially ordered by folder name (threading enabled by bug 379806) see screen shot at "A" thread order is by date within folder name, not strictly by date. at "B" thread order appears to be correct by date I can't see why in some cases the order is correct and others it is not.
another example
I don't know why this would be either - when it happens, does it do it again when you leave the folder and come back?
Summary: thread message order not strictly by date in cross folder search, partially ordered by folder name → message order within thread not strictly by date in cross folder search, partially ordered by folder name
(In reply to comment #2) > I don't know why this would be either - when it happens, does it do it again > when you leave the folder and come back? yes. it looks the order might what one sees from an outright "search messages", which is order by folder
cross-folder views, and the threads within them, are built up folder by folder, first by loading all the cached hits, and then adjusting them by doing a per-folder search. Within a given thread, we're supposed to sort messages at the same indentation level by date as we add them, but it sounds like that isn't always working.
still happens. kinda non-standard threading :) marking regression b/c I'm pretty sure this worked at one point
