However, There is one point in which Thunderbird cannot keep up with Outlook, and hence is not yet an alternative: The Address book, essential for Professional users. In Detail: 1. Fields for Phone Numbers; In Outlook we have a great amount of possible Fields to enter Phone Numbers (E.g. 1.Assistant, 2.Business, 3.Business-2, 4.Car, 5. Mobile, 6. Radio, 7. Home, 8. Home-2, etc. (more than 8!! Fields !!)) Vs. Thunderbird: TB has only 4! Fields. This is definitely not enough to work with professionally. 2. Fields for E-Mails: In Outlook we have 3 E-Mail fields. Vs. Thunderbird: TB has 2 E-Mail fields only. Not enough for professional use. 3. Import of an Address book from Outlook 2003 upwards must be simplified and without any Data loss. People having over 500-600 contacts cannot afford typing each contact by hand. We (in our office and friends) would very much enjoy migrating completely from Outlook 2003/2007 to Thunderbird (with Lightning). However, until the issues above are not resolved, this seems impossible to many users. Looking into a better future with a next TB, Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just open TB Addressbook and Compare with any Outlook 2003+ Address book. You will see.
