User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2) Gecko/20081125 Firefox/3.1b2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2) Gecko/20081125 Firefox/3.1b2 I originally started looking for a bug dealing with the compression of my bookmark bar which resides as an item on my address bar. Generally having to right-click customize and exit out of customize for them to appear correctly. However, in 3.1b2pre when I right click to customize I get a blank customize sheet with no way to clear out of it besides quitting/exiting out of the application and restarting. I found one bug relate to this but it attributed the issue to an extension - I however have no active extensions what so ever. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Right click on any element in the address bar where "Customize is an option to choose from and select "Customize" 2. Allow the customize sheet to drop down 3. See that the customize sheet is completely blank Actual Results: Customize sheet drops down with zero icons and no widgets to close or reset to default. Expected Results: Customize sheet should drop down with many icons to move around and widgets to reset to default and close. No active extensions or themes installed.

Visual confirmation of the blank customize sheet.
Can you go to about:config and set javascript.options.showInConsole and javascript.options.strict to true, then open the error console and clear it. Go through the steps again, but before you exit the browser check if there are any errors and report them here. Also, I'd say to try this on a new profile http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile as it can be related to localstore.rdf corruption/incompatibility.
Firefox took several seconds too display the customization sheet. Thunderbird 3.0 Beta 1 didn't display it at all the first time after installation (see Bug 468056)

This happens for me as well, on a new profile (I actually deleted Application Support/Thunderbird to start fresh).
(In reply to comment #4) > This happens for me as well, on a new profile (I actually deleted Application > Support/Thunderbird to start fresh). If this occurs in Thunderbird as well, I'm suspecting something related to Cocoa widgets (if it's mac-only).
I get the blank sheet in TB only when selecting View->Toolbars->Customize. When I right click and select Customize, the sheet is fully populated. I'm on OS X 10.5.5 and running TB Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20081204 Shredder/3.0b2pre.
I've found a 100% effective STR for reproducing this bug in recent Shredder nightlies. But (be forwarned) it's *very* strange. 1) Run some other copy of Thunderbird than the one you'll be testing (say Thunderbird 2.0.0.18, or a different copy of Shredder). Then quit this copy (the "other" copy). 2) Run the copy of Shredder you intend to test. As it starts, its Dock icon will bounce twice (as does Firefox's under similar circumstances). A Mail & Newsgroups window should open. 3) Right-click on the Mail toolbar and choose Customize (or choose View : Toolbars : Customize). A normal (non-blank) Customize window should appear. 4) Click on the Customize window's Done button to dismiss it. Then close the Mail & Newsgroups window (it doesn't matter which method you use to close it). 5) Reopen the Mail & Newsgroups window. Once again it doesn't matter how you do this (e.g. clicking on Shredder's Dock icon, or choosing Window : Mail & Newsgropus). 6) Try to customize the Mail toolbar (right-click on it and choose Customize, or choose View : Toolbars : Customize). This time the Customize window should be blank. From this point on, every Customize window will be blank. This will stay true even if you quit this copy of Shredder (the one you're testing) and restart it. The only way to make the problem go away is to run some other copy of Shredder: Apparently the double-bounce-on-startup does something to reset the problem, and (temporarily) make it stop happening.
This is probably a Cocoa widgets bug.

This bug is (basically) a dup of bug 468991. Turns out bug 468991 was a layout bug, and is now fixed on the trunk (I checked today's trunk nightly to be sure). When bug 468991's patch lands on the 1.9.1 branch, it will get into comm-central Shredder. That should happen soon -- bug 468991 is marked blocking1.9.1+.
