What are you seeing and where? Is there still history left in the sidebar? Or are you getting confused that now the address bar also shows bookmarks when you start typing?

Hi Steve very fast reply. I click on clear private data and then I go into the address bar, I click on the arrow (at the end of the address bar, on the right side) and I can see some previous visited links that I would delete with the "clear private data"...I hope you can understand my incorrect english

Please choose View > Sidebar > History (or CTRL+H) and see if the history sidebar is empty or not.
REMEMBER! Firefox can now also show bookmarks in the address bar when you click the arrow.

Yes the history is empty but some links that appears when I click the arrow are NOT present in my bookmarks
Comment 5•16 years ago

If the history sidebar is empty then that is a good indication that the history is properly empty, so what you're seeing is something else.
Are these mysterious links all star'd by any chance? if you choose Bookmarks and then Organize Bookmarks and then search for a mystery link, is it definitely not in your bookmarks?

No the link was not present in my bookmarks.
I did so: I clicked on the arrow focused on de not desired link, pressed del key of my keyboard, now the link is desappeared.

could that have been a livemark child?

Hi Marco,
I don't know what a livemark exactly is :-(
Comment 9•16 years ago
|
||
Livemarks are Live Bookmarks, in italian version is "Segnalibri Live", so bookmarks you subscribe to get news, like the default "Ultime Notizie" on the toolbar.

I have the english version of firefox. I don't know where I have to check to see if the link is in the Livemarks as you said.

there's not a common place to look for that, i was asking based on the title/uri you were seing in the location bar... did that sound like a download, a news from a website?

in my location bar I have no references to the link I saw pressing the arrow

Are you willing to send us your places.sqlite (bookmarks+history) file so the problem can be investigated in more detail? If you don't want to attach your places.sqlite to this public bug, I'm sure it'd be possible for you to email it straight to a developer.

I would turn off the behaviour to see the bookmarks in the address bar when I press the arrow, I don't like that functionality.
It could be that for some of the addresses I'm seeing after a history delete,
some other address on that domain is bookmarked.
It looks like some addresses go away and others don't.

So, if you turn off bookmarks from the address bar and clear you still see some entry?
Then please open history sidebar and see if those entries exist there.

Hi I don't know how to turn off the behaviour to see the bookmarks in the address bar when I press the arrow. Is it possible? Maybe you can add this as future feature.
