+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #427750 +++ which unfortunately broke cross-compiling using python 2.4 ... Does anyone have any objection to moving the python test to just before the compiler checks, and the PYTHON_VERSION=2.5 to the Windows case of the section captioned "System overrides for the defaults for host"?
Since the other patch got backed out, I'll just fix it in an updated patch there.
