If I choose a date within this year, only day and month are filled. The year field stays empty. If I change the date to another year everything is fine, also if I change back to the preselected year 2000. Expected Results: The day, month and year field should be filled.

That behavior was intentional; people often know only the day and month (sometimes the age, and, less often, the year) on which a person was born so the datepicker doesn't fill in the year element. Trying to select a year on which a person was born through the datepicker popup is difficult. The year is only filled in from the datepicker if it changes within the datepicker popup.
