The Get Mail only get's mail for the current selected account. You need to choose all accounts in the dropdown to get mail from all accounts.
(In reply to comment #1) > The Get Mail only get's mail for the current selected account. > You need to choose all accounts in the dropdown to get mail from all accounts. That is too tedious as there are up to 10 accounts. Why do you not allow 'Get Mail' to get all accounts. Previous versions of thunderbird had that facility.
This is how it always worked. I meant hitting the "Get all new messages" in the dropdown - so it doesn't really matter how many accounts you have - it's one click. (Though there are bugs about getting all mails by default.)
What do you mean with "the current selected account"? I have ONE account (gmail), and the 'Get Mail' button does nothing. This is nothing but ridiculous. Why would anyone want that no mail is fetched when the Get Mail button i pressed?

(In reply to comment #1) > The Get Mail only get's mail for the current selected account. > You need to choose all accounts in the dropdown to get mail from all accounts. I'm still not sure what a "selected account" means. The duplicate bug 281417 is called "Get button doesn't work on 2 or more email accounts", but as said in my comment #4, I have only one account and it still doesn't work. Should I file a separate bug report for my problem?

Make sure to go on the various thunderbird support and ask there before filling the bug. (http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/)
