It is impossible to close the dialog without quitting Thunderbird and reloading. You can however successfully customise the toolbar in the maini window Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click create a new message 2. Click view->toolbars->customise Actual Results: Blank dialog appears. Cannot customise the toolbar Expected Results: Load the appropriate icons to enable you to customise the toolbar
Last time I tried you could select view -> toolbars -> customise a second time and it would bring the dialog up properly. Either way this should be fixed soon - the fix in bug 468991 and we should pick it up when it lands on the 1.9.1 branch.
