However, choosing this option, the header block gets messed up as detailed below under Steps to Reproduce. Also, clicking "hide details" makes the fonts large, as also detailed under Steps to Reproduce. AFAICT, this issue has been like this ever since the header style was introduced. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. [attached image: header-1.png]: The header before either "more" or "hide details" is clicked 2. [attached image: header-2.png]: The header after "more" is clicked. Notice how the shaded boxes around "reply...", "forward...", "mark as junk", and the Trash icon have been squished. Also, notice that the "more" link remains. 3. [attached image: header-3.png]: The header after the residual "more" link is clicked. The shaded boxes around "reply...", "forward...", "mark as junk", and the Trash icon are still squished, but now not as much. 4. [attached image: header-4.png]: The header block after "hide details" is clicked. Notice now that the font becomes enlarged and will remain enlarged--even when clicking on a different message, in any folder--until the down arrow to the right of "more" is clicked.

Also affects Linux, screenshot shows headers after "more..." is clicked. Just thought you might want a Linux screenshot - ubuntu 8.10 / Gnome

With luck, the patch that comes out of bug 469878 will fix these problems as well.

As far as I'm aware, the patch in bug 469878 should have fixed all these issues. Resolving as FIXED. If any of them are still lurking, please file individual bugs on them; thanks!

Pretty much fixed. Only residual defect is that the header buttons still get truncated at the bottom but now only by 2 pixels. Not sure how this truncation will be affected by Bug 494478 once it's fixed, but that can be dealt with then.
