This is fixed in TB 3.0 in two ways: (1) The default encoding quality of JPEG for pasting images has been increased (ImageLib bug 444898), and (2) by default, lossless PNG will be used to retain the original image quality (Editor bug 384116 along with Windows Widgets bug 444800).
