Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032711 Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.0.8 Build Identifier: I propose that Thunderbird add an option for showing the user's own replies in threads. The Gmail web-based email client does this, and it is very convenient for conversing with someone who does not know how to properly quote. For a detailed description of Gmail's threading with user's replies, see the heading "Viewing a conversation thread" on this page: http://xkahn.zoned.net/software/evolution/threads/ Reproducible: Always http://taint.org/wk/GmailThreadingDetails
Severity: normal → enhancement
I want to read my email each moring as a passive process like Google Reader or gmail.. Each "Thread" is a channel, and all I have to do is scroll down to mark things as read. I can pop stars on them for conversations I want to keep going, add new responses inline. I love the idea of scrolling down instead of clicking on thread after thread.
@Aubrey: Please file a separate bug for your request, hijacking this one is in nobody's interest. Thanks.
Also, bug 480228.

I second this. I wouldn't even mind if Thunderbird opened a web browser in that frame (and auto logged in for me), so that I could see my multiple gmail accounts each with ease, and still have threaded conversations with my emails!!
