User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1pre) Gecko/20090525 Shiretoko/3.5pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1pre) Gecko/20090525 Shiretoko/3.5pre I got to poking around my Library on build 20090525041408 and noticed I had a bunch of unsorted bookmarks that I don't remember bookmarking (well over 100, maybe over 200, i lost count), so I selected them all and pressed the delete key on the keyboard and Shiretoko froze. I checked task manager and it was using 100% of the CPU and RAM usage went up from 250MB to over 350MB before I killed the process. None of the bookmarks were deleted when I restarted Shiretoko. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firefox 2. Press Ctrl-Shift-B 3. Go to unsorted bookmarks 4. Delete a large amount of unsorted bookmarks. Actual Results: Shiretoko froze and no bookmarks were deleted. Expected Results: Bookmarks should be deleted in a timely manner without hogging the CPU or increasing RAM usage.

Additional information: If I select one at a time, I can delete them with no problems, but it's slow. Ideally you should be able to delete them all at once with no problems.
I noticed that when you select items in the Library it shows you a count of how many were selected. I've deleted about 400 unsorted bookmarks and there are still 6010 remaining, so I assume that the code in the Library wasn't meant to handle deleting almost 7000 bookmarks at once. :)

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
