Details
Currently we don't have explicit option to authenticate using GSSAPI. You have to select secure authentication to make GSSAPI trying authenticate and if it fails it just silently fall back to regular secure authentication.
Its good idea to give people select if they wish authenticate using GSSAPI ONLY. Still I would like to keep such scheme if GSSAPI fails fallback to regular(secure) authentication. Because sometime you have expired or non-exist ticket on your machine.
Not sure if that preference component, feel free to change to appropriate

Can we do something about that before TB3 release? This is what enterprises are heavy relay on.
Does this require a lot changes - only UI or also additional code hooks?

I'll make this a bug of the (newer) bug 525238, if you don't mind. Please yell if you do :).
