If you unhide the manubar using the ALT key, then do not rehide it, you cannot open a link by left clicking in the content area. Doing so fails to follow the link and open the URL, it merely dismisses the menubar.
IE completely disables content area clicks if they dismiss the menu bar, regardless of auto-hiding. It also doesn't change the cursor on links in this case. This might have to be fixed at a lower level.
I see what you mean here. I am not sure that the behavior is intuitive; I am positive I don't like it; but it is the same as what IE does. The one thing I found that is different is that Firefox is now dismissing the menubar if you click on an unused area of the menubar, IE does not do that.
