Build Identifier:
Thunderbird 3 will get nice tabbed interface. And with the patch in Bug467768, the feature will be useful for many people. I think we should use the tabbed interface as much as possible.
Currently we can open messages and calendar in a tab. Bugs to open Compose window and Address Book in a tab are already filled.
I'm asking for the ability to open external saved .eml files in a new tab, instead of a separate window, depending on the option, which we got with Bug467768.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an external saved .eml file in Windows Explorer via doubleclick
2.
3.
Actual Results:
It will be always opened in a separate window
Expected Results:
Should be opened in a tab, depending on the option under Preferences -> Advanced -> Reading & Display -> Open messages in

Let's have this ride the train to 112. Unless you need this earlier.
