User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 Build Identifier: 2.0.0.22 (20090605) See at steps below. I mean TB don't believe to Gmail spam filter and detect faked Spam messages (sent "from me to me") as Sent. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. I have a mailbox on gmail, for sample mymailbox@gmail.com 2. Some spammer send spam with From field composed as "John Doe" <mymailbox@gmail.com> 3. Gmail service marks this message as spam and move it to Spam folder 4. TB on my machine have connection to mailbox via IMAP; while loading these messages placed in folder [Gmail]/Sent 5. I have naturally Spam in my Sent folder so I shall delete it manually. Actual Results: my steps described current state. Expected Results: Spam messages determined by Gmail should stay in IMAP:[Gmail]/Spam folder. Sent folder have flag "test folder for new messages" set. There may be misspelling because I use Russian version of TB.
For Tb as IMAP client, "folder to keep spam/junk is never IMAP folder which Gmail IMAP passed as IMAP folder named "[Gmail]/Spam". "[Gmail]/Spam" is simply an ordinal IMAP mail folder for IMAP mail client. "Junk folder for Tb" is folder defined at "Junk Setting" of each account. Do you set it properly? Note: Tb 3 already has capability to set "[Gmail]/Spam of Gmail IMAP" as "Junk folder for Tb" automatically, to reduce complaints like yours. See Bug 476260. > 5. I have naturally Spam in my Sent folder Does it mean you send many spams to other people every day? > 4. TB on my machine have connection to mailbox via IMAP; while loading these messages placed in folder [Gmail]/Sent >(snip) > Sent folder have flag "test folder for new messages" set. Does it mean that you have message filter rules which moves Junk mails to "[Gmail]/Sent folder" and many Junk mails are moved to "[Gmail]/Sent folder" by message filter upon download of newly added mail to "[Gmail]/Spam"?
Tb's spam filter needs to be trained too. So if you don't train him it will detect spam that is not.
(In reply to comment #1) > For Tb as IMAP client, "folder to keep spam/junk is never IMAP folder which > Gmail IMAP passed as IMAP folder named "[Gmail]/Spam". "[Gmail]/Spam" is simply > an ordinal IMAP mail folder for IMAP mail client. > "Junk folder for Tb" is folder defined at "Junk Setting" of each account. > Do you set it properly? I have this folder pointed to IMAP/Junk :( Now I turn off TB spam filter on this account so Gmail will detect spam by itself. > Note: Tb 3 already has capability to set "[Gmail]/Spam of Gmail IMAP" as "Junk > folder for Tb" automatically, to reduce complaints like yours. See Bug 476260. Tb 3 not released by now, waiting for it :) > > > 5. I have naturally Spam in my Sent folder > > Does it mean you send many spams to other people every day? Of course no :) > > > 4. I don't have those filter. (In reply to comment #2) > Tb's spam filter needs to be trained too. So if you don't train him it will > detect spam that is not. I turned of TB spam filter. Summary: 1. I mean this bug response can be closed 2. Is there an approved-certified-by-TB-team :-) Gmail IMAP setting guide? Thank you!
