Steps to Perform: 1. make sure mail.operate_on_msgs_in_collapsed_threads is set to True 2. make sure that mailnews.database.global.indexer.enabled false 3. Select a Thread and other messages Actual result: 1. the summary is show up and also the first line of the body of the message. Expected Results: 1. the summary will show up but not the first line of the body of the message.
I don't see the issue here. The summary is designed to give you an idea of what the message is about, the summary of the first message in the thread will also give you pointers as well. Why shouldn't we display a one or two line summary in all cases?
Indeed. Aureliano -- can you attach a screenshot showing what you see? (Note that in one of the patches I'm working on i'm going to boost the summary to the first 300 chars of the message.)
Thanks for the screenshot. That's exactly what it's supposed to do, except that in the case of bugmail, it's not that helpful. (there's an extension that will fix that, however). (In english at least, a _summary_ is different than a _subject_ -- the subject line is the thing in bold, and the first 200 characters are there as a representative "synopsis" of the message itself. Does that help?) I suspect INVALID is the right resolution, but it might be WONTFIX.
