I come from the world of MS Outlook and find it very awkward that by default my reply is placed below the quote. I also no of no other mail client that handles it like this. I think for most novices like me, it would make the transition to Thunderbird easier, especially since it took me quite some time to figure out where I could change this setting. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Thunderbird. 2. Open a message. 3. Reply to it. Actual Results: The reply is based below the quote which to me seems illogical. Expected Results: I would expect the newest info ie my reply to be on top of the message. In a long conversation this scrolling down can become tedious.
This is already possible. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Reply_above_quoted_message for more details.

I now know that it's there, although it took me some time to find the place for tweaking those settings, so that could be made easier to find. Plus since most mail applications that I know and have used (that includes webmail too) employ the opposite solution it would make adapting to TB easier.
Anybody else thinks this default ought to be changed? How many applications actually use this approach?
