I only get this issue with the LinuxToday RSS feed:
http://feedproxy.google.com/linuxtoday/linux
One of the links in the article are opened in Firefox and others in Thunderbird. Links from other rss feed articles and other links in this rss feed seem to always open in Firefox.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. subscribe to LinuxToday RSS feed
2. download articles and choose one
3. click "Compete Story" below article text (link: http://go.internet.com/?id=474X1120&url=http%3A%2F%2Flinuxlock.blogspot.com%2F2009%2F08%2Flet-their-eyes-be-opened.html opens in Thunderbird )
4. click "Home" link in menu to the left of article text (opens in Firefox )
Actual Results:
Link opens in Thunderbird
Expected Results:
Link should open in Firefox
This particular link has a different format to all other links in the article:
http://go.internet.com/?id=474X1120&url=http%3A%2F%2Flinuxlock.blogspot.com%2F2009%2F08%2Flet-their-eyes-be-opened.html
vs
http://linuxtoday.com/infrastructure/2009081401035NWCY ( which opens in Firefox )

What happens if you startup Thunderbird from the command-line using the -safe-mode switch? Does the bug still exist?

Robby, does this happen if you create a new profile via profile manager?
Use -P startup switch.

Here seems that works fine relating to original post (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20110929 Thunderbird/7.0.1)
But both linux and windows show malformed page in TB (see attached screenshot)
Windows release is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:11.0a1) Gecko/20111117 Thunderbird/11.0a1

This is due to the noscript tags - duping forward to bug 662907 as that has more info.
