MS Outlook does). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select an e-mail (trash) or any contact (adressbook) 2. Press the "Del"-Button 3. The message/contact immediately disappears without any warning

For email, you can just hit "undo" to get the message back. For address books, there's nothing you can do, though.

Amendment: Please make also sure that users are prompted for an confirmation when deleting mails via [Shift]+[Del] in ALL MAIL FOLDERS (not only in trash).

Re comment#3: Yes, bug 526541 covers the missing prompt before deleting a contact. But what about "Missing prompt before deleting Mails (via [Del] in trash; via [Shift]+[Del] in any mail folder)" ?
