So it looks like the "xul-window-visible" notification was originally intended for hiding the splash screen. Now it looks like it's not used at all.
So I'm proposing that we actually use it, and actually pass a window as the subject.

I never landed this because I think I ended up just doing bug 511503 and finding that to be better (all while working on bug 514490, I think...). I'm not sure if we even want to do this at this point, but I'd be happy to make sure it works & land it if so.
