The gloda facet should somehow display folders with names matching the search.
Furthermore, it could allow interaction between messages and those folders by allowing to move messages to folders.
The search for folders is a bit similar to bug 479767.
Additionally, a list view with a three-pane window would be nice to facilitate that interaction. The folder list could be filtered there according to bug 479767, and the folder hierarchy (tree view) be retained according to bug 370737.
Reproducible: Always

jens, can you provide a screen shot mock up of what you mean by this?

I think I just meant that the list of folders with the search string in their name should be displayed separately from the already existing folders facet.
And the folders displayed should be available as targets for dragging messages on them. But this probably requires further usability engineering ...

Bear with me, I'm trying to understand and clarify one task (the most important task?) you want to do. Is the only or primary objective to be able to drop messages in folders?

Yes, that would be the core functionality:
"Furthermore, it could allow interaction between messages and those folders by
allowing to move messages to folders."
