Friend is tryin to make his webpage netscape friendly and is becoming very
irritable in the process. He used a 3x3 table with pictures and the entire thing
at one point didnt not render at all after some playing. Fixing it, I got it to
mimic what Netscape 4.7x does. The middle right frame does not display it's
proper color, or for that matter, anything. If anything is placed inside it,
except a space, it renders properly. Otherwise, good luck. The line of code for
it is, under the block of 20 img tags, the one that reads <TD VALIGN="TOP"
WIDTH="82" BGCOLOR="#000000"></TD>.
Some quotes:
1)*NETSCAPE MEETING**
ok, we are all open source, now let's divide up the components shall we!#!?!
"I GET XML!!!"
"I GET JAVASCRIPT!!!"
"I GET FANCY FEATURE NOBODY USES!!!!!"
"okies but who gets tables!$!?!"
<crickets>
"OH WELLS WE DONT NEEDS TABLES WE USES LYNX INSTEAD!#!"
2) oh i see we have smarty man who thinks "oh well, if it doesn't have stuff in
it it's not worth rendering, alalalal"

Ross Lombardi, mozilla does not support the <layer> tag. Please take a look at
http://sites.netscape.net/ekrock/standards.html for more information. Over to
evangelism.

No, it is not a dupe. Sorry about that. But the reporter is the site owner eh?
The examples on the url are still layer based. What do we do about him? Will
reopen though

I had just checked this in Netscape 6.2 and it there is no difference whatsoever
in the two examples. Unless there's something else I'm not seeing, it would
appear this is nothing to worry about?

yep, it looks like the wrbm compatibility stuff help you out so long as you stay
in quirks mode (no doctype). the layer issues with geocities ad cruft. we have
another bug on them for that.
so, Ross, ok to mark this one as fixed?
