We are accessing intranet through a proxy with a password...
On linux the proxy password is never stored and it is re-asked each time a web content is accessed...
Reproducible: Always
Expected Results:
the proxy password should be stored (the user should be asked if he want to store the password)
Regression from thunderbird 2...

another problem... is that normal that thunderbird always try to use the HTTP proxy for POP,IMAP,NNTP protocol... that's a very bad idea! since a HTTP proxy cannot proxies these protocols!!!!

I can confirm this bug under windows xp:
