(Whiteboard: closeme 2010-02-15)

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: 3.0.0

After updating to 3.0, whenever I read a message in my inbox for my my Gmail account connected via IMAP, whatever I do on the client which IS NOT TB 3.0 is not reflected back to the 3.0 client. This includes reading a message and marking it 'read', deleting a message so it's gone, or moving a message into a folder. This happens from any client that's NOT TB 3.0 -- if I work with an account in TB 2.x, if I go to webmail, or if I manipulate my email on my Motorola Droid, using the provided Google client. This seems to happen ONLY on the GMail account, as my other IMAP account works as expected when updating from a client other than TB 3.0.

Waiting does not fix the problem, as it does not seem to be delayed, just not there. Closing and opening TB 3.0 doesn't reflect the changes. Clicking "get Mail" does not update the changes. Changes made in TB 3.0 do seem to be working and all other clients get updated. Changes made in clients other than TB 3.0 are reflected everywhere except TB 3.0.

This only happens if TB 3.0 is running when a message comes into the inbox, and then the message is manipulated after TB 3.0 receives the message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up TB 3.0 to use IMAP on a gmail account.
2. Open TB 3.0
3. Send message to gmail account
4. Message is received in TB 3.0
5. Go to gmail web interface. (Or droid client, or TB 2.x, or possibly any other IMAP client)
6. Delete message which was just received.
7. Go back to TB 3.0 and see the message was not deleted.
8. Refresh (get mail) -- message is still not deleted.
9. Close/Open TB 3.0 -- message is still not deleted.

Actual Results:
Message does not get deleted on TB3.0 -- unless it's manipulated via TB 3.0

Expected Results:
TB should mirror all other imap clients when manipulating mail in the IMAP folders -- this is the nature of IMAP.
Can you provide us with a log for imap:5,imapAutoSync as described at https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging#Windows ? make sure to figure out which message you delete with other means - and give us the UID so we can figure out what is going on.

My TB setup consisted of two IMAP accounts, one Gmail, one that isn't gmail. I set up a logging for imap and realized that both accounts would be included. So, I set up a profile that was ONLY my Gmail account. I left this running in TB3.0 on my home machine while using my Droid Gmail client, TB2.0.0.23 and the web interface to gmail while at work. Surprisingly, all changes propagated to the TB3.0 that was running, also.

I'm re-running diagnostics on the imap, but with both accounts enabled to see if this was causing the error.

This bug was happening on two separate installs of TB3.0 running the same two-IMAP-server setup.
mickey, you no longer see the problem?
