OK, some investigation led me to discover that draggesture events aren't firing at all on the non-image portions of trees that are in XUL documents loaded into IFRAMEs (sub-documents) (phew!) I've mentioned this to pink and he shrugged dismissively as he usually does, so let's see how he likes having the bug reassigned to him ;)

peter, this bug was originally filed as "can't drag separators" but it is more than that. Bookmark items in general cannot be dragged except by grabbing the icon - see Ben's 04-09 comments, or the dupe bug.

Actually, this is working for me today. Anyone else?
