I have 4 Mail accounts installed at my profile. I edit their settings in the "Extras/account setup" dialog box. When editing the settings for the first account the same settings are also made in the second account.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. create some mail account and set the setting at different mail servers with different logon data
2. In the "account setup" dialog box change the display between the different accounts
Actual Results:
The account setup data I made visible in the dialog box are equalized. e.g. the "account identifier" which shall be the root (in the tree at the left side) of each account is equal between account one and two and I cannot set different names. The Identifiers are even different in the edit box where I can enter the name but in the tree on the left side for account one and two it takes the name for account 1.
Expected Results:
The data for the account can be set up seperately in the "account setup" dialog box without influencing other accounts.
I could enter different data for each account seperately when reopening the "account setup" dialog box and looking / editing only one account. But when looking at another account there was again a mixup.
In the about:config the setup is also correct and can be edited correctly.
Maybe that there is a mixup because I use all 4 mail account through one proxy server only different ports for pop and smtp for each server (I created 8 ports for that in my proxy).

can you make a screenshot and attach it here using the add attachment link please ?
sorry, its all in german, but I hope you get along.
I marked with a red line that the name of the second account is not what I enterred in the id.
just to repeat my problem, maybe its not yet completely clear:
when I create all the accounts at one time and I want to enter all the data at one time this won't work because (I suppose) the target for stroing the data from the edit boxes in the account manager do not clearly point on the correct target path (which account). It's possible that this only happens when the edit boxes are filled with data after creation and so thats the wrong data as preset...
I tried it once again to edit the settings in the dialog box and now it seems to change the value at the correct place (at one account and at the chosen one). So that seems OK now...
So its only the thing with the name of the second mail account in the tree on the left side.

That can be changed if you look into the prefs.js file in your profile.
Well, if I look into the prefs.js (looks pretty much like the same data as displayed in about:config) there is the correct name for the second entry:
user_pref("mail.server.server1.name", "Gruppierte Ordner");
user_pref("mail.server.server2.name", "Lokale Ordner");
user_pref("mail.server.server3.name", "meins bei gmx");
user_pref("mail.server.server4.name", "web.de über Kellertroll");
user_pref("mail.server.server5.name", "pv bei martinrasenack.de");
user_pref("mail.server.server6.name", "martin bei martinrasenack.de");
but why is for the first and the second entry in the 'tree' the same name?
And at server 4 (second entry) there is nothing like 'meins bei gmx'.
In Bug 41929, comment 107 they report something similar like I have seen here with me...

I don't know.
Well, now it looks good, even the heading for the second entry is named correctly. Most probably because of the same problem they describe in Bug 41929...

can you reproduce this using a current version of thunderbird?
if you are unable to reproduce, please close by setting stats to resolved, and resolution to WORKSFORME or another appropriate setting.
If you are able to reproduce, add new details, and a testcase if one does not already exist in the bug report.
