A Japanese user reported that he couldn't scroll with TrackPoint. He uses USB Travel Keyboard.
He could enable scroll by changing a value of ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled to 1. So I'm sure it's a TrackPoint detection failure.
He found a TrackPoint registry key under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Synaptics\SynTPEnh\UltraNavUSB".
See the URL field for details (Japanese).

We should take this on 1.9.2. Virtually 0 risk, and will let some users scroll again.

Would you document the hack?

We're removing these hacky registry entries on uninstall, right?

We don't create these keys. We only check the existence.
