3.0 users who set up new accounts with smtp servers are getting "use name and password" checked when the server doesn't require and more importantly accept user name and passwords. Verify logon would probably deal with this, but we should have a bug for this case.
This bug should block the smtp tracking bug.

I'm not sure, but any change here would be likely to mess up Ben's big re-write, so perhaps we should ask him to take this bug over…

If this is about implementing verify logon for SMTP, that should be mostly backend and logic and the collision with my work should be minimal.

I totally don't have the time to work on this, so I'm going to let it go and hope someone else can pick it up.
